Ultimate Coffee Date – November 2016

Happy Saturday! I am so glad it is finally the weekend.

It is also time for my favorite post of the month!

Confessions of a Mother Runner
I hope you will grab a cup of coffee and join the chat!  Coffee with friends is one of my very favorite things…so even though I am enjoying my coffee with the dog this morning I am so thankful for this opportunity to chat and share!

If we were having coffee I would tell you that I still can’t quite believe that we have been in Texas for a whole month now.  October was a seriously crazy month.  Pretty much all the changes were really good ones and I am incredibly grateful….but it all happened really fast!

If we were having coffee I would share that house shopping is majorly stressful and comes with way more “hiccups” than I could have ever imagined.  The options and limitations get a little overwhelming.  And it gets even worse when you are also trying to decide what town you want to live in!  We have a few options at this point so we will see how things pan out.

If we were having coffee I would tell you that I am supposed to be doing a long run today and so far I am not very motivated.  I wanted to go to Cameron Park in Waco, run, go to the farmers market, maybe hit a yoga class then brunch with my sister in law.  But it is raining.  SO that means Charlie took the car to work (aka motorcycles in the rain are apparently not fun haha) so I am going to do my long run up and down the driveway. It’s a quarter mile each way so I guess it’s still better than a track! This is going to be my first long run since The North Face ECS 50K in September.  I have not done more than 3 or 4 miles at a time since then.  But the BCS Marathon is barely over a month away and the Key West Half is only about a month after that so I really need to get myself in gear! Are you running either of those races? I’m hoping to meet some new friends!

If we were having coffee I would want to know if you have heard the two pre release songs from The Hamilton Mixtape yet.  I know I already mentioned it yesterday but I am seriously counting down the minutes until December 2nd when I can listen to the whole thing!

If we were having coffee I would want to know what you are looking forward to this month and if you have fun Thanksgiving plans!

Thanks for hanging out with me over coffee this morning. I hope you have an amazing weekend!

  1. I’ve moved houses but not cities – I can’t imagine making all those decisions. Good luck with your run – what’s the Hamilton Mix Tape? I downloaded the soundtrack from Amazon Prime Music and it’s awesome for long runs!

Thanks for joining us for coffee!

    1. The Hamilton Mixtape is coming out December 2nd and is pretty much the soundtrack revamped and recorded by other artists…Kelly Clarkson sings one of the songs that is currently available!
The regular soundtrack is my go to music while running!

  2. Gosh, buying a house is stressful! Just when you think you’ve found the perfect house, there’s almost a hiccup of some sort….sellers change of mind, a better offer, your own second thoughts, etc. Our oldest daughter just relocated to Pennsylvania (we’re in Iowa), and had a major “choking spell” from the bank…they kept prolonging the close date, and the sellers almost terminated the deal. Thankfully, she had a happy ending, but it was so stressful for a 22-year to deal with all on her own.

    1. That sounds awful! We are so fortunate to be able to stay with my inlaws for the whole process which is amazing. Glad everything worked out for her!

  3. I had coffee with my dog this morning, too. 🙂 Good luck with the house hunt. I do not envy you.

How was your long run in your driveway? That sounds crazy to me. lol.

  4. I can’t imagine house showing in a different state. We are house shopping in the same suburb we live in and it is a headache! I hope you find something soon so the headache can go away!

    1. We are living in the state where we are house shopping…but I don’t know the area well yet for sure!

  5. House hunting is no joke- good luck! I live in Central Florida and I know that Key West race is super popular- wish I could join you!

  6. Up and down the driveway?! Well, that’s one way to get it in! Congrats to you for getting out and getting it done, girl! House hunting is SO HARD, especially when you aren’t sure about the area you’re wanting to be in. I think y’all should send some of that rain over to east Tennessee – we sure could use it!
