Getting and staying hydrated has always been, and still is, one of my biggest struggles. Living in ridiculously hot regions does not help my cause. And despite knowing how important it is to stay hydrated….y’all water just gets boring after a while! Of course the alternative would usually be electrolyte drinks which tend to full of unnecessary dyes, sugars and who really knows what all.
Ultima has become my go to choice for staying hydrated because it’s a nice break from water, but it also doesn’t have a whole bunch of ingredients that I would rather avoid.
- There are no artificial colors. Now I am not perfect, but with all the possible negative effects of some dyes, this is something I appreciate.
- No artificial sweeteners or sugar. Ultima uses stevia for a touch of sweetness that isn’t overwhelming which I like. Many artificial sweeteners give me a headache so I try to avoid sugar free drinks…but Ultima using stevia keeps my head feeling ok!
- All 6 electrolytes are included….not just salt. Now I know I am not the only one who has tried a major brand electrolyte drink and just thought it tasted like sugar and salt right? Ultima is more balanced. And tastes better. So that’s hard to beat.
- No artificial flavors. Again. It is nice to know what you are putting in your body. Ultima is flavored (and colored) with real fruits and vegetables.
The big deal: taste
Obviously a drink can have all the scientifically good stuff in the world but taste awful which makes it about useless. Luckily that is not the case with Ultima. I enjoyed all the flavors, though I can safely say that the cherry pomegranate was my very favorite. None of the flavors are overwhelming. And, as I mentioned, they also do not pack the weird salty-sweet taste of many big label electrolyte drinks.
One of my very favorite things about Ultima is that it comes in both a tub and individual stickpacks. I like this so much because the stickpacks are so convenient when you are out and about and can easily be carried on a run….but I hate the waste of using them at home. Being able to scoop a serving out of a tub when I am at home (and to be honest I keep one in my car as well) makes me much happier because I am not creating the extra trash.
Overall, I love love Ultima! If you want to try it, you can find Ultima on Amazon and at Whole Foods! If you have any questions about my experience with Ultima let me know!!
