Nutrition is not something I am exceptional at. There. I said it. I am just being honest when I say that given a donut and a salad, I will pretty much always choose the donut. No shame. However, when it comes to running that mentality can be a little challenging.
To be totally honest, this post is going up a day later than I planned on on because someone invited me over for pizza.
Anyways. The point is that I am very aware that I need to eat things that are better for me….I just have a hard time making the time for healthier choices when I am on the go. But I have also paid the price for my poor eating habits more than once while running.
Enter Food Groove Mission Superfood Bites. A total game changer for me.
Because of my work schedule, I am usually hungry by the time I get home from work…but if I want to work out or run I don’t really want to eat anything heavy because I know my stomach won’t do well with it. When I got my sample of the Food Groove Mission Super Food Bites I started to use them for the boost of energy I needed before a workout or run and had great results. They taste good and have enough calories to give you a little boost of fuel. They were also very easy on my stomach. Even when I did BBG (which involves a LOT of burpees/crunches/mountain climbers/things that churn up your belly) I never had any hint of an upset stomach.
For someone that has a history of eating all the wrong things before running, this is a seriously big deal. I wasn’t hungry and I didn’t fee gross during the workout. Amen. Hallelujah. Praise hands. All of it.
The perk on the side is that I knew the Food Groove Mission Superfood Bites had ingredients I could actually read and understand and fool good about. And they are a nutritional powerhouse. That’s hard to beat right?
All in all, I am a huge fan of the Food Groove Mission Superfood Bites and they are going to become a regular part of my training. I think they will be great as a mid run pick me up as well (since gels and I do not get along at all). My current mileage doesn’t require that, but I am hoping to work back up to longer runs and these will definitely be coming along with me!
