Running Safer With RoadID

We don’t like to think about it…but what if something goes wrong while you are out running? Or just out an about? If you have allergies or a medical condition, how will first responders know?

As unpleasant as it is to think about, it’s something I am much more aware of now as a mom. When I go out for a walk or a run I almost always have my two-year-old with me. And if you are a parent you know that concern for your kid’s wellbeing is a huge thing.

So I am obsessed with my RoadID Sidekick ID. It’s on my watch band so it is easy to remember to wear it. I was able to customize it to include my mom’s contact number as well as my husband’s…because I’m a military spouse so the times my husband can’t answer his phone are more frequent than the times he can.

I chose the Sidekick ID because it was easier for me. My Garmin is something I rarely forget to wear, so having emergency contact information on me whether I am running or just running errands is just plain easy. Plus with a toddler (and pregnancy brain) it’s one less thing to get lost around the house!

Speaking of pregnancy, the Sidekick ID has given me so much peace of mind when I go out. With winter weather rolling in, it’s reassuring to know that someone could contact my mom if I were to get hurt. Because slipping on ice while pregnant is a huge fear for me!

As for the practical side, RoadID makes it easy to order and use their products. It took next to no time to customize my Sidekick ID. They give great examples of information you might want to include. Shipping was quick and I have to say that the email updates from RoadID were, hands down, the best I have ever received from any company! They were fun and also kept you in the loop on the process of your ID making its way from blank to your mailbox. It took pretty much no time at all to get the Sidekick ID on my watch band and I can’t feel it at all when I wear my watch.

Fortunately I have never needed to use my RoadID, but I am so thankful to have it just in case!
