July 2018 Goals

Alright y’all. It’s a new month and a new opportunity to refocus on my goals! Later this week I’ll be continuing my “The Mother Runnin’ Truth” series and talking more about the mistakes I made setting goals for postpartum fitness…but for right now we can go with the short version: they aren’t happening.

I am a very goal oriented person so losing my goals for 208 was rough.  That said, January 1st isn’t the only opportunity to challenge yourself.  So here we are.  I am setting a few more manageable goals for the month:

  1. Run at least a mile at least three times per week
  2. No soda. This is a bad habit I picked up at work; I drink it because it is there but I always feel bloated and gross after
  3. Drink at least 90 ounces of water per day
  4. Write (and publish) at least three blog posts per week

Seems pretty reasonable right?  I am looking at July as an opportunity to get back on the bandwagon with some healthier habits that will set me up for success! My gut reaction to these goals is to feel disappointed because they seem so boring and simple, but at the end of the day they are the solid base I need in order to build myself up to chasing bigger goals.
