TGIF and happy Veterans Day!
It’s been one heck of a week and I am very much looking forward to some downtime and a long run this weekend.
This Five Things Friday may not be as much about products I am loving, but maybe that’s a good thing. Without getting too sentimental maybe this is the best possible time to share a few things I am loving that aren’t things at all.
People sharing love and encouragement
It’s easy to keep scrolling through social media until you are entirely overwhelmed by the anger and hate. It is easy to forget the good and remember the bad. But if you look for the good you will find it. There are so many kinda people in this world and the best thing we can do is to find those people and stick with them. The only thing more important is that we work to be kind as well.
This week I am so incredibly thankful that I am able to run. Running is a refuge and something that allows me to feel like I am taking a little bit of control back in my life!
Starbucks Red Cups and BOGO Holiday Drinks
Have you gotten your first red cup of the season yet? I am a sucker for all the holiday drinks and the red cup just give me a warm fuzzy feeling. It is a small simple thing but it somehow is just a symbol of the holiday season to me.
Plus Starbucks is currently doing buy one get one free holiday drinks from 2 to 5 pm…6 pm if you have a registered card. I think. I am not a Starbucks ambassador or professional, just an enthusiast. That said, go grab a Chestnut Praline Latte and grab another coffee for a friend or a stranger. It’ll make you smile too.
Huma Chia Gel
I got a sample of the strawberry flavor after the North Face ECS 50K in September and just tried it last weekend on my 8 mile run and it worked! Not going to lie; I am way more nervous about how I am going to fuel my marathon than I am about how I am going to run that many miles! Gels don’t play well with my stomach (something I figured out during my first marathon) so I am experimenting with options. This weekend I am going to pick up a few more Huma flavors and hopefully a couple other brands and options to come up with a strategy!
It’s just around the corner! Unlike retail stores I don’t see it as a gateway holiday that we have to get through before we can go Full Christmas. I LOVE Thanksgiving! And next week I get to do a couple Thanksgiving lunches for work which I am super excited for!
What are you most excited about this week? Do you have big plans for the weeks
